Feuerheerd's Colheita Vintage 2003
A single harvest port aged in oak to produce a complex, richly textured wine with notes of honey roasted almonds, liquorice and oak. Excellent as an accompaniment to chocolate or mince pies.
Colheita is the name for a Tawny port, made with grapes of one single vintage. A Colheita port is at least stored 7 years in small barrels (pipes) before it is bottled, but the ageing in barrels can also last several decades. When a Colheita is bottled, it is ready to drink, no further storage in the bottle is necessary.
